Tuition assistance and a book allowance are available for full-time and part-time students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. These awards are made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of English Language Acquisition, through the Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers project. Scholarship winners will be announced in late Spring, 2013. The funds will be available beginning with the 2013 Fall semester.
See the Scholorship Application for more details.

Mission Statement

Through a balanced program of research, professional development, and public education, WIABE supports and encourages the implementation of educational policies and effective bilingual-bicultural programs that promote equal educational opportunity and academic excellence for all language minority students. WIABE firmly believes that only enrichment (additive) forms of bilingual education ensure that language minority students are successful academically and develop age-appropriate English proficiency while, at the same time maintain a sense of pride in culture and diversity.
